“Eid er Khushi – 2019”, a regular event organized by Rongdhonu Foundation has come to an end. We first gathered the street children from local areas as planned. Then from 11:30 am, they were taken in groups to the ‘Shoily Collection’ situated at Lucky Plaza, Agrabad; where they bought new dresses of their own choices. Regular kids in our society go for shopping with their parents in different occasions, just like that we tried to give those poor and helpless children the privilege, where they can go to the shopping mall holding our hands and buy new clothes as they like! On the last day of the event, more than 90 street children got new dresses for Eid-ul-fitr.
We have completed the event in 5 phases. On the first day of the event, poor but brilliant students who earned scholarships from Rongdhonu Foundation, on the 2nd-day street children from local areas, on the third-day orphans from madrasa, on the 4th and 5th day again remaining local street children, cleaners and security guards of the shopping mall got new dresses for Eid-ul-Fitr.
We went for shopping with more than 328 children throughout this event. We divided the event into 5 phases to reach different portions of the society, so that the poor children can also share the happiness of Eid.
